Look for blowouts of 20 points or more, close losses and double and triple revenge situations, but once again, not on bad teams! Always look at a team that was eliminated from the playoffs the previous season when playing the team that did the knockout number. This is an excellent example of good teams seeking revenge. 


2.OFF SCORING 100 OR MORE POINTS & LOSING

Teams who scored 101 points or more and lost the game straight up are prime candidates for a letdown in their next game. Teams putting up triple digits would expect to win the game at a high percentage of the time, so having lost they fail to come back strong failing to cover the spread 60.4% of the time. The percentage of winners to losers from a wagering aspect can be improved if those teams that scored 101+ points and lost played the role of chalk in their next game. This little parameter improved the overall mark to a very reasonable 63%.


3. POOR OFFENSIVE EFFORT

Any NBA team that fails to score 70 or more points in a game lasting 48 minutes should be ashamed. You may think that not many teams fail to score 69 or less points in a game, but surprisingly, it occurs just over an average of 30 times a season over the last five NBA seasons. Look out for such occasions as teams have responded well off such a poor offensive display as they cover the number 63% of the time. Just to help you a little bit further, if that lousy offensive effort was played out in front of their home crowd, the fire inside the players sparks their efforts even more, as next time out they respond in a big way, beating the spread over 69% of the time.
